I’m currently sinking my teeth into the tall task of submitting my short “CONSUMED” to international film festivals, whilst kicking off a fundraising campaign to help bring our story to France and other far-flung places. As I figure out how best to implore festival judges to give this movie a shot, I’ve done a lot of soul searching – trying to be really honest with myself (and the people I’m pleading to) about why this story is worth sharing. This also means I’ve been thinking a lot about why exactly it is that I do what I do, as well as pondering my passion and the message I want to share with the world through my art. Not a bad thing to think about on a Thursday afternoon. It’s actually so nice to take this time to remind myself of the roots of my creative passion, and I think we should all do this more often amidst the daily grind. As I attempt to put my mission into words, I figured I’d ask you about your story as well…When was the last time you really thought about the things driving your life’s work? Or, here’s the big question: what is the fabulous, heartfelt reason that you do what you do?
Stay tuned for the premiere of the “CONSUMED” movie trailer. It gives me chills every time I see it, so I can’t wait to share more of this passion project with you. (Brace yourselves, ‘cause I will in fact be doing lots more sharing.)
Production still by Catherine Jackson Photography…If you haven’t seen Ms. Jackson’s work, you should definitely check it out because her images inspire me daily to live out loud and in vibrant colors. Do her photos have the same effect on you? Leave a comment.
