Big things they are a-comin’. As such, I’m doing a bit of cleaning up around here…
For anyone who doesn’t know, I started posting an essay a day on this site eons ago when I was in the process of moving to LA and building a career in the entertainment industry. No matter rain, shine, or looming deadlines at my day job, this was simply something I did like clockwork, and — OMG — it was such a lifesaver to have this habit amidst a time of so much uncertainty and change. Through writing more than 500 posts, I not only met some amazing people, but I learned tricks that have helped me be a little less of a perfectionist and silence my inner critic when necessary (an insanely valuable ace to have up your sleeve when a film crew of 150 people is waiting on you to turnaround rewrites so they can shoot a scene, like, yesterday).
Seeing as my career and brand have changed a ton since the early days, I wanted to make sure my online presence reflects this. This means I’ll be sprucing up around here so I can start using this site to interact with readers in new ways.
If you are one of the loyal readers who have been with me since the beginning and you’ve come to this site looking for a specific post you no longer see, please let me know and I’ll make it available to you. Conversely, if you’re new here and notice a strange assortment of personal essays/random posts peppering this site, you can safely bet it’s because they’ve been brought back by popular demand. Prediction: most of these demands will be coming from my mother. (Love you, mumsies!)
